This article offers an overview of global human population economy environment and culture in order to explain why some people are interested in the question How many people can the Earth support? The article reviews some answers to the question and suggests ways that could alleviate some of the problems of population economics environment and culture. The author reiterates that population problems are not purely demographic but also involve economics the environment and culture. The real issue with population is not just numbers of people although numbers matter and statistics give quantitative insights.
