In 1926 Hendrik Kraemer (1888-1965) bought a manuscript in Yogyakarta which he called 'Sultan Agung and the jin kings'.He made a summary in Dutch of its contents, and this synopsis is now kept in the Leiden University Library (Cod.Or.11.655,, while the manuscript itself found its way to the Institute at Oegstgeest which presently bears his name (HKI 89-2-D2).1 Pigeaud (1970,111:126), who only had access to Kraemer's summary, described the text briefly as a Nitik Sultan Agung, a 'phantastic tale concerning ginn princes of Daksina Tasik, the Southern Ocean, by tumënggung Cakraningrat, Yogyakarta, datcd 1892 A.D., 32 cantos'. 2 Actually, HKI 89-2-D2 contains the same text as a manuscript in the Museum Sonobudoyo at Yogyakarta (MSB-L 132), which bears the rather verbose title Seral Babad Nitik kangjeng Sultan Agung, nyariyosaken wiwit dèwi Ambararini, putrinipun raluning jim linamar raja wolung nagari ngantos dhaupipun
