Etude de l'organisation sociale du village balinais de Trunyan a travers trois mythes tires de l'ethnographie de Danandjaja. Le mythe d'origine des premiers etres humains, celui de la premiere alliance et de la fondation de Trunyan et celui de l'etablissement du village actuel explicitent les relations hierarchiques. La communaute villageoise des Bali Aga se caracterise par deux niveaux : la partie subordonnee est celle du « dadia » (groupe de descendance) ou la purete de la descendance et la distinction de l'origine sont importantes : les dyades vieux/jeune, premier/dernier ne, interieur/exterieur legitiment la competition pour le pouvoir. Le niveau superieur est celui du « desa adat » (village rituel) ou la dyade homme/femme domine
