Demographic Potential of the Krasnoyarsk Territory (Krai)

The article presents the specifics of the demographic situation in the Krasnoyarsk territory (Krai) \nbased on data of the official statistical information of the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) and \nits territorial authority across the Krasnoyarsk territory (Krasnoiarskstat) in dynamics for 2010-2015. \nThe purpose of this article is to estimate the demographic potential that is understood as a part of \nthe population with certain quantitative (number, density, urban saturation) and qualitative indexes \n(structure and composition of the population) necessary for social and economic development of the \nterritory. It is shown that deterioration in key demographic parameters of the Krasnoyarsk territory \nin a medium-term prospect causes a need of compensation for a natural decline in population by \na positive migration balance. The article verifies a judgment on population problems available in \nliterature that a low demographic potential is a considerable restriction for the development of the \nterritory
