The article substantiates the efficiency of selecting methodological principles for the study of \nmodern Russian literature reception by Chinese readers. The author refers to the tradition of \ncomparative literature, receptive aesthetics, analyses the concept that emerged within the framework \nof communication theory. The methodological «sieve» allows considering the reception of the texts \nproduced in other cultures with regard to the factors (interference, stereotypes) that cause interpretation \nconflicts and communication failures
