Using the 1987-88 National Survey of Families and Households, this paper examines predictors of repeated home leaving. Four major categories of variables are included in the analysis: family structure, family formation, personal characteristics, and control variables. It is found that repeated home leaving is best predicted by respondents' age, at first home leaving, race, and divorce/separation status. Children from non-biological or non-intact families are less likely to repeat home leaving, but children from families that received public assistance tend to return and releave home more. The findings on military service, student status and family's socioeconomic background suggest that further research in these regards is necessary
