Starting from a photograph widely published by the brazilian press in 2016, the case of Sheila in Morro do Fallet (RJ), we list a series of issues that challenge the problem of epistemology and coloniality of knowledge in face of the development of science and technology. We end up suggesting that this event took place with such repercussion because it moved issues related to the imaginary and with journalistic codes at the same time.Key words: Image. Imaginary.
