Climate changes may have significant impacts on human population, especially in urban areas. Their effects might lead to exposure to extreme conditions such as those resulting from natural disasters - hurricanes, droughts and floods − and the increasing spread of vector-borne diseases, including those caused by troublesome mosquitoes. Here we present some comments on how global warming might affect the populations of vectors of some disease agents such as those of visceral leishmaniasis, filariasis, and the arboviruses − dengue, Chikungunya and Zika − causing impacts on public health and calling for more rigorous surveillance and control measures
