Este artigo tem como principal objetivo lidar com um dilema interpretativo no campo da análise de classe e nas ciências sociais mais amplamente: a análise de classes é útil para investigar os padrões de sociabilidade cotidiana? É possível conectar classe e status? Para tanto, inicialmente o artigo faz uma breve incursão pela literatura sociológica atual para descrever os contornos desses debates. Depois, o artigo produz um estudo empírico que tenta iluminar aspectos da relação entre classes e práticas sociais. A hipótese principal é que a classe conforma ativamente os padrões de sociabilidade cotidiana e a formação de estilos de vida
