A Difel e a Coleção Corpo e Alma do Brasil

The article will present Corpo e Alma do Brasil, a collection published by the publisher Difusão Europeia do Livro (Difel) under the direction of Fernando Henrique Cardoso, from 1960's. Through its first releases, we will analyze how the cultural and material conditions for editorial production in São Paulo benefits the elaborations of local intellectuals on relevant topics to the nation's projects discussed in the period. The survey of the catalog and the paratexts of the editions will be the basis of the discussion and will allow us to identify the references that connect the project with the political-intellectual context, defining it as a university "brasiliana". In this way, we will demonstrate how the models and canons constructed by the brazilian edition are given new meaning by absorbing and promoting new communities of authors and their positions in the public debate
