At the first moment the research was with Muslims in Brazil. It analyzes the "conversion" from Brazilians to Islam. Later, the investigation was extended to the religious practices of "converted", and their inserts between Muslim groups both in Brazil and Portugal what resulted in a comparative study between the two countries. Both surveys were marked by the "differences" which turned into motivation, limitations and reflections. The "researched" and "researcher" met themselves into an ethnography, or a "trip", which implied ambiguities and left marks and feelings. Smells and sensations that were kept as memories of the moments into the field.Key words: Islam. Muslims. Convertion
