This article proposes a reflection on the ethical principles regarding the vegan diet and its extension to domestic animal diets. We recur to the analysis of the pet food publicity and marketing as well as to online discussions. The results show that the vegan movement, by inserting animals in the ethical dimension of alimentation, dramatizes and intensifies the frontier that approximates but divides animals and humans. Keywords: Food consumption.
