Intimate space, legitimate space. Paris, the urban and urbanity. Jacques Lévy [52-64]. The confrontation of our knowledge on the dynamic of urbanity and of empirical results provided by a survey on spatial identities of the people living in the Ile de France area reveals a contradiction. The practices of urbanity regularly increase but the actors are not more conscious about it and, for them, the city, particularly Paris, still is an intimate space and not a legitimate space
