Selon un grand nombre d'enseignants en mathematiques, les principales difficultes d'apprentissage resident dans la resolution de problemes. Cet article presente les resultats d'un projet de recherche visant a etudier les correlations entre verbalisation des problemes et facilite a les resoudre. Le cadre pedagogique sur lequel se base cette etude est la theorie des metaphores conceptuelles qui est une application de principes semiotiques dans le domaine de l'education. Cette approche semiotique appliquee a la pedagogie permettra alors d'envisager la question de l'amelioration de la performance des etudiants pour la resolution de probleme
