T THIS paper presents a world view of certain geographic features of international trade. More specifically, three aspects of the world's trade are discussed; namely, (1) the size of international trade and its geographic distribution, (2) the commodity composition of international trade, and (3) the direction of international trade. The paper attempts to supply a few basic generalizations in an enormously wide and interesting field which has been cultivated comparatively little by geographers in recent years.'
