The ritualisation of obscenity is a constant of hazing. It allows the channelling of the strong emotional charge freed up by the transgression of behavioural social codes. The human body is the medium for the construction of a collective identity, one of the instruments of which is sexuality. The distribution of masculine and feminine roles within the ritual reproduces masculine domination. Girls must identify with this model in order to be integrated into the ritual
