Analisa as proposições de Piaget para se pensar a epistemologia da Biologia e as diferenças epistemológicas dessa ciência em relação à Matemática e à Física. Retomando o debate de Piaget acerca das epistemologias das ciências, a autora apresenta aspectos da psicogênese e sociogênese da Biologia realçando as diferenças epistemológicas que devem ser consideradas para a iniciação ao ensino dessa ciência. Palavras-chave: epistemologia da biologia; epistemologia genética; ensino de ciências e biologia. Abstract The paper analyzes the proposals of Piaget concerning the epistemology of Biology and the epistemological differences of this science in relation to Mathematics and Physics. Resuming the debate of Piaget about the epistemologies of sciences, the author presents aspects of psychogenesis and psychogenesis of Biology enhancing the epistemological differences that must be considered for the teaching of this science.
