Se presenta un análisis de las diferentesconstrucciones subjetivas que tienen hombres y mujeres dela región pacífica colombiana, especialmente de algunossectores del Chocó, sobre las masculinidades y las feminidades.Adicionalmente el artículo muestra cómo estasrepresentaciones se transforman, crecen y se relacionan, ylas formas y estrategias específicas que adoptan las personascuando intentan consolidar y describir la manerade asumirse hombre o mujer. Para ello se toma el hombrecazador como figura de análisis y se recogen relatos acercade situaciones violentas y no violentas concernientes a larelación entre los géneros.Palabras clave: masculinidades, feminidades, género,violenciaAbstract: This study presents an analysis of the differentsubjective constructions of masculinities and femininitieson the part of men and women in the Colombia Pacificregions, especially in some parts of Chocó. It also showshow these representations are transformed and how theyinter-relate, and the specific strategies adopted by peoplewho try to consolidate the way in which they become maleor female.
