The introduction to the special section devoted to the book La religion de près is an opportunity to look back at the reasons that motivated such a section in Studies in Religion/Sciences religieuses. We explain that, in addition to a personal - almost emotional - attachment to the book, there are reasons more acceptable among academics: if Piette's book opens new avenues for the anthropology and sociology of religion, it also echoes fields of English-speaking research developed in the same period. Finally, we present briefly the five contributions that make up this special section
Aesthetics · Art · Epistemology · Multidisciplinary approach · Period (music · Perspective (graphical · Section (typography · Social science · Sociology · Special section · Visual arts · Anthropology · Computer Science · Engineering · Philosophy · Reformation and Early Modern Christianity · Religion and Society Interactions · Religious studies · Religious Studies and Spiritual Practices
