The following two interviews are being printed with the permission of Wolf Biermann. The first appeared in the German magazine Konkret 1 (January, 1977), 11-15. It is translated here in a somewhat abbreviated form. The second is an exclusive interview for American readers which was conducted by Thomas Hoernigk in West Berlin on February 2, 1977. It has not appeared in print before, either in German or in English
