A gente queria o quê? Um domingo

This article presents a scenario of identifications and belongings related to organized fans of Riograndense Futebol Clube, an institution with railway origins in the city of Santa Maria-RS. This club has not had a professional team since 2017 and, over time, has gone through periods of crisis and intermittency. The main objective, through ethnographic data produced by participant observation with organized fans and the interpretation of three fan chants, is to show the outline of a context in which fan identities are constructed. Thus, according to an ethnography carried out between 2022 and 2024, this text seeks to highlight how the past, both railway and football, permeates relationships of belonging among part of the Riograndense fans. Thus, information is presented about identity constructions whose characteristics highlight territorial ties, rivalries arising from club affiliations, railway heritages and nostalgic memories
