The Ringing In ofthe Sabbath - The ringing in of the Sabbath is a custom typical of Finland and Sweden. The custom has medieval roots, but it has acquired several different meanings during the last five centuries. In my paper I deal with these different meanings and the ways in which today’s people evaluate our own age using nostalgic narration
