This article is a contribution to the study of the new seasonal agricultural day workers and social subjects in the context of globalization, expressed in the Neo-Liberal agro-export model implemented in Chile since the 1980s. Through a historical description of the changes in agriculture the study focuses on the rapid development of the fruit sector, which constitutes an example of the externalization of primary activities and changes in the national food system, showing the alterations in the everyday lives of the workers involved. It also analyzes the perspectives of this group, in the context of the transformations that have had an impact on social organization, collective memory, social identity, and the aspirations and possibility of collective actions
