This paper aims at a critical analysis of the work Insubmissas lágrimas de mulheres (2020), by the writer Conceição Evaristo, evidencing the strength of ancestry expressed in all her writing, as well as in the short stories chosen as the corpus of this article. We analyze the stories of the characters Maria do Rosário Imaculada dos Santos, Isaltina Campo Belo, Rose Dusreis and Regina Anastácia, highlighting intrinsic aspects of orality as a resource of ancestry, of feminine resistance and of Evaristo's escrevivência. For that, we take as critical and theoretical assumptions the studies of Hampâté Bâ (2010), Walter Benjamin (1994), Cunha Junior (2010) and Oliveira (2014). Our analysis allows to conclude that, from the experiences narrated by the characters, the Evaristo's work refers to the socio-historical condition of black women in Brazilian society, confirming literature as a space of resistance in which realities of oppression of the feminine are denounced
