This article proposes to analyze the figurations of the feminine in three historical novels from the Central American postwar period: La niña blanca y los pájaros sin pies, by the Nicaraguan Rosario Aguilar (1992); En la mirilla del Jaguar, by Guatemalan Margarita Carrera (2002); and A pesar de mujer, by Costa Rican Rosibel Morera (2004). To this end, in the light of readings that associate the issue of gender with coloniality, three motifs are addressed, namely the connection of the feminine to the private sphere, the relationship between women, knowledge and power, and the notion of pedagogy of the feminine as a device of biopolitics. Considering the necessary relationship between history and the present and as a condition for projecting the future, we reflect on the perspective of the future that is possible to glimpse in the analyzed novels
