In this work, we will present some reflections by Eneida Maria de Souza about the modernist literary map of Minas Gerais. Eneida contributed a lot to a greater knowledge about the artistic-cultural creations of the state. The text begins with considerations present in the books Traço Crítico, Narrativas impuras and Mário de Andrade: cartas aos mineiros. Mário de Andrade proves to be an important interlocutor for the researcher. We will make observations on essays by Eneida concerning works by authors such as Pedro Nava (Pedro Nava, o risco da memória), Henriqueta Lisboa (Correspondência Mário de Andrade & Henriqueta Lisboa) and Autran Dourado ("Modernismo mineiro tardio e o cosmopolitismo"). Studies on Minas Gerais literature open up to contemporary theoretical perspectives and occupy a privileged place in the production of Brazilian intellectuals
