千葉県武士遺跡出土のイノシシ下顎骨45例(縄文時代後期)の齢構成を知るために, 歯牙の萌出咬耗形質を新美(1991)の区分法で分類した。この区分法は0歳以上の連続した年齢群で構成される現生標本から, 各年齢群に対応すると思われる5群の分離に有効と考えられる。武士遺跡標本でも同様の5群が分離され, 推定年齢別では1.5歳ついで3.5歳の占める割合が高く、屠殺季節は冬と推定された。なお、発掘時の標本採集法を改良することで, この遺跡からは夏秋死亡の0歳仔標本が回収可能だが, 全体に占める割合は把握できていない。以上の結果は, 武士縄文人のイノシシ獲得行動を特定する手がかりとして重要である
