The theme of the Word is central in all religions of the peoples of the world. This is reflected in the existence of myths, sacred tales, sacred books, and oracular legends. The theme of the creative Word can be found in the folklore of many of the so-called primitive [pervobytnyi] peoples of the world. In the tropics of Africa eight ancestors are the perfect emanations of the great Nommo, who embodies the fertile water of the rains and the wise word.1
