In connection with the unprecedented large international forum of slavicists-archeologists, it is appropriate to examine the modern-day condition of Slavic and Slavic-Russian archeology in our country. There is no need for a detailed breakdown of thematic variety. It can be found, in particular, in the joint article by V. V. Sedov, N. A. Makarov, and A. V. Chernetsov devoted to an overview of the materials on Slavic-Russian archeology, which, the authors argue, should be presented in encyclopedic publications [Sedov et al. 1990]
