The Von C0 is one of the newest additions to the Nhac Tai Ti2, or --am er music of South Vietnam. Inasmuch as NhaTai TYFperformances vary according to the moods and availabilitj of the players, a versatile style has evolved which may be performed by as few as one or as many as eighteen musicians.3 The instruments used are primarily plucked and bowed chordophones. The ensemble is never without a woodblock called s&ng lang which the leader uses to punctuate the phrases and occasionally an endblown flute is added. A single vocalist, usually female, is considered essential though many performances are completely instrumental
