This thesis is dedicated to the analysis of the social links and relations between city and campaign such as they appear from a musical practice of Tulear's region (Southwest of Madagascar) : tsapiky. This music may be interpreted as a means of overtaking of the existing structures of subjection. Moreover, by mobilizing and renovating resources supplied by cultural inheritances, it plays a key role in the building of a regional identity. Althought kept in ritual contexts as well as monetary ones, tsapiky shows an original articulation between the city and the country side. The aim of the thesis is to demonstrate that in situations of acculturation, beyond the various constraints in which it evolves, tsapiky as young music, participates to the establishing of a series of relativively autonomous social links, and endorses rich and complex meanings, due to the specific articulation it creates between past, present and the futur
