Le rejang est une danse sacree pratiquee par les jeunes filles et les femmes et exprime a la fois le role sexuel specifique des femmes balinaises et leur place dans le contexte rituel. La premiere partie de cet article decrit la danse rejang dans le contexte social et religieux de plusieurs villages de la region orientale ; la seconde partie propose une reflexion autour de l'influence de la culture nationale sur les pratiques rituelles et notamment sur le role des femmes
