THE aim of this research was to investi-gate time orientation and interpersonalrelations in a group of hospitalized emotionally disturbed children and in two groups of normal children. Time orientation in imaginal processes was studied by a protective method, and interpersonal relations were de-fined by measures of stability of friendship patterns. These two significant areas were previously investigated independently (1, 5, 7). The present study was designed to replicate and extend these previous studies and to relate and unify them.
