This article aims to analyze how Aristotle's concept of soul or psyche was incorporated into the work of the Arab thinker Al-Farabi, more specifically in what is considered his most important work, The Excellent City. The article includes a review of Aristotle's work On the Soul, along with supplements provided by texts present in Parva Naturalia. With this, we intend to see how the specific demands of Al-Farabi's time may have influenced this process of incorporation and the possible modifications that these demands may have made to Aristotle's original thought
