This paper aims to refl ect on the relation between Multiculturalism and Environmental Education, focusing on the\neducation of environmental educators. The cultural question and some of its implications, along with the need for\na comprehensible cultural conception in view of various coexisting lifestyles in different places and regions, are\napproached within the context of globalisation, which acts upon culture. It is assumed that Education, when brought\ntogether with a socioenvironmental perspective, is capable of promoting democratic citizenship and thus should\nbe directed to multicultural purposes, reinforcing interculturality. This perspective requires thinking the education of\neducators in a complex and dialectical world view, valuing interdisciplinarity and encouraging sociocultural practices\nfor the development of environmental education
