The present paper derives from a research that aimed to investigate\nrepresentations about student teaching in the academic-professional formation of the\nundergraduate course in Music offered by the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria\n(FUSM). Based on studies concerning teacher s formation, supervised student teaching\nand musical education, this work aimed to understand and analyze the representations,\nbeliefs, ideas and values of music students in relation to the student teaching model,\nas well as to understand the processes of genesis and transformation regarding the\ndevelopment of teaching as a whole. The fi ndings indicate that the representations of\nthe supervised student teaching change along the formation and that the central aspect\nregarding teaching conveys the positive aspiration of being a good music teacher in\ndifferent educational contexts
