Neoliberalismo en la educación inicial

El neoliberalismo en educación ha proliferado en distintos lugares del mundo, lo que ha incluido la educación inicial (0 a 6 años). La expansión en la matrícula en este nivel se ha dado principalmente por medio de una racionalidad política que incluye: la privatización de la oferta educativa, un financiamiento competitivo a la demanda y sistemas de evaluación estandarizada. Dadas las particularidades del nivel educativo en cuestión, existe escasa evidencia respecto a las consecuencias de dichas políticas. Con el propósito de comprender las implicancias de estas transformaciones en la educación inicial, se desarrolló una revisión sistemática de la literatura internacional, en la que se examinaron 53 publicaciones entre 2012 y 2022. Los hallazgos contribuyen a caracterizar las políticas neoliberales en este nivel e identificar sus efectos en relación con: i) el acceso, cobertura y equidad, ii) la calidad, currículum y rendición de cuentas, y iii) las condiciones laborales y de financiamiento
