Two parts of book present a historic study of carpet weaving in Morocco, and a catalog of 87 primarily 20th century Moroccan carpets which were exhibited at the Textile Museum, Washington, D.C. The narrative is illustrated with black and white photographs and diagrams of the weaving procedure; the catalog contains many color photographs. A short vocabulary of textile terms (in English, French, and Tamazight) covers materials, processes, and design elements. An appendix to the catalogue provides structural analyses of the carpets. -- AATA
