Nine years after its first fascicle appeared, volume one of the Friedrich-Kammenhuber Hethitisches Wcrterbuch has been completed. Very little has changed during the course of its publication in response to critical reviews of the earlier fascicles. The work is marred by faulty methodology for dating Hittite texts, a confusing and inconsistent format, a dogmatic and polemic style of presenting evidence, and a love for excursus that will not allow completion of the project in the author's lifetime
