Andamanese, India's fifth language family, has rarely been studied and its areal participations remain largely unexplored. This paper provides a bibliography of published and unpublished material on Andamanese. Since most of the languages are extinct, what has been recorded is almost all that we shall ever have. The paper also discusses the internal and external relationships of Andamanese and provides some comments on the history of the study of the Andamanese languages. These comments include a discussion of the Proto-Negrito and IndoPacific hypotheses
