(a) Fragments of inscribed vases of Rimus' are frequent and have not only been found in Nippur 4 but also in numerous other places in both northern and southern Mesopotamia.5 Even now such fragments can be picked up in Nippur on the surface or on the old dumps. Thureau-Dangin in his Die sumerischen und akkadischen Kdnigsinschriften (SAK) (= Vorderasiatische Bibliothek I, 1907) has distinguished three variants of such vases: one called A with a three line inscription, one - Vase B with a six line inscription, and one - Vase C with a thirteen line inscription. The fragments here presented belong to examples of either A: SN-T567 7 and 6N-T1033a 8 or B/C: 6NT10339; C is represented by 2N-445.10 There is nothing new the fragments have to contribute
