On null subjects and null objects in generative grammar

L'A. presente un examen critique des analyses generatives concernant le sujet nul et l'objet nul, et indique, a travers des donnees provenant de langues genetiquement sans rapport et structurellement diverses, que leurs conditions d'autorisation et d'identification restent completement isolees, et qu'il se peut qu'un seul ou plusieurs parametres syntaxiques ne soient jamais adequats pour les justifier. La raison est que differentes langues peuvent exiger differentes strategies d'autorisation et d'identification, certaines d'entre elles etant de nature pragmatique (cas du chinois, du quechua et du vieil islandais). Sa theorie pragmatique neo-griceenne de l'anaphore lui permet ainsi de formuler une nouvelle approche pour l'identification des sujets nuls et des objets nuls
