The present essay focuses on the study of a group of objects described in archaeological literature as tejos, which are part of numerous archaeological contexts of the current Mexican territory, including Central America and the Caribbean. However, not much we known about the function it played in the pre-Hispanic societies that made it. In such a way that some background and primary studies based on the analysis of traces of use are presented here, which seek to provide some hypotheses about the function and role it played in social dynamics. For this, the study of an existing collection in the site museum of the archaeological zone of Calixtlahuaca in the State of Mexico was taken into account
