Os arquivos pessoais e sua importância como patrimônio documental e cultural * The personal archives and their importance as documentary and cultural heritage

O presente artigo tem a intenção de discutir a importância dos arquivos pessoais como patrimônio documental e cultural, além de seu uso tanto como fonte quanto objeto de pesquisas acadêmicas. Assim, por meio da análise do lugar do indivíduo na produção historiográfica, objeto que proporcionou um olhar mais atento dos historiadores sobre esses arquivos e as peculiaridades que os constituem, estes trazem também um novo olhar sobre aspectos da vida pessoal e intelectual de seu titular corroborando com outras formas da escrita da história.Palavras-chave: Arquivo pessoal - Patrimônio - História. Abstract: This article intends to discuss the importance of personal archives as documentary and cultural heritage as well as their use as both source and object of academic researches. Thus, by the analysis of the individual's place in historiographical production, which has brought historians to a closer look on archives and the peculiarities that constitute them, these also bring a new look on aspects of personal and intellectual owner which corroborates with other forms of history writing.Keywords: Personal archive - Patrimony - History
