A través del estudio de la historiografía de ambas orillas atlánticas y la investigación archivística del período colonial de Venezuela/España, se pretende dibujar los diferentes “paisajes humanos” y el comportamiento político criollo en relación con la corte y el Imperio a finales del siglo XVIII, para intentar comprender conductas, propósitos, sentimientos y visiones de este grupo « mantuano» durante el crepúsculo imperial
