This work analyses the appearance of a modern State in Spain, from the perspective of Justice. The judicial processes in the first half of the 19th century unveil the mechanisms through which the system impeded the acceptance of legal equality of liberalism. A personal network formed at the local scale is the ideal setting to observe the new framework of political representation, and also the resistance strategies against the new constituent projects
