This discussion will view juvenile delinquency as a way of life in urban living.' The main emphasis will be on the deviant behavior of minority youth, particularly Negroes, living in segregated communities, culturally isolated islands, as it were, located in heterogeneous, multigroup, metropolitan areas of the United States. The central purpose of this approach is to disclose the nature and peculiar cultural components of the social relationships between individuals and groups in racial and cultural, minority (segregated) communities of standard metropolitan areas
