Research Article| March 01 2002 Margins Catalina Ríos Catalina Ríos catalina ríos's poetry is shaped by life experiences and community histories. Her work evolves as she evolves and is affected by personal and historical choice and circumstance. Over the years she has written about the Puerto Rican migrant experience—in particular her own family stories—as well as about identity, justice, and spirit. Lately her writing has taken new risks by testing forms and voices. In her best work she investigates and asks what marginality is.
