Among the plays described by Pollux in his Onomasticon or Dictionnary several ludic practices are characterised by violent components and correspond to the modern notion of bullying. This is the case of basilinda, the king’s play, of chytrinda, the pot’s play, and of chalkê muia, the fly of bronze, a hide-and-seek play.
