There exist few paintings directly connected with the drama in Pompeian painting. It is with the IV. style (circa mid first century A.D.) that a few significant instances appear : "scénographie" walls or "pictures" that may be considered as inspired by the tragic vein. Here one tries and sees which connection those two series of documents may have with the renewal of drama fostered by Nero and represented by Seneca's tragedies
